Went to a local school Saturday that several people including myself have hunted for years, this ground is horrible due to the fact that it was a dumping ground for coal cinders years ago. Anyway I decided to hunt next to the parking lot and had found a few pennies then I got this 12-43 and would bounce up to a 12-46 from time to time and was about 5 inches down, so after making my way through a layer of gravel this silver disc popped out and at first I thought it was a quarter until I got some water and started to clean it up then realized what I had was my first Walking Liberty half a 1942. My hunting buddy Garry and I couldn't be leave what just came out of the ground and after re-checking the hole I found a 1952 nickel which was most likely bringing the signal down. Also there was a lot of rust on the coin as well but a little baking soda and some time and it cleaned up nice.
