First two hunts for the year

Well here are the the keepers from my first two hunts of the year. The first lasted about 4 hrs. on 6/18, and took place at the site where clam bakes were held back in the 30's and 40's. I found a lot of bottle tops but very little in the line of coin. I did manage this one 1936 Merc., she's a little worn but she still looks good to me! The second hunt took place on 7/2 and lasted for 4 hrs. The location was a staircase that connected two different parts of town and has been thoroughly traveled since it was erected in the 1870's It has been rebuilt at least once since it's original construction and I know the area had been hit really hard back in the 60's and 70's by some detector pioneers and that they pulled a lot of silver out of the area back then, that is where the tip came from! Knowing that they hit the area hard for quite a while I began thinking "If I were a coin where would I go and not have been found after all these years by other detectorists!" So risking life and limb I started a slow sweep up the outside of the staircase on the steep side of the bank by holding on to the railing with one hand. The area is littered with pull tabs bottle tops and very old rusted nails. But about half way up I encountered a mottled tone but with enough of a nice chirp to get my attention about 6 inches down I pulled the 1913 Barber out, My first! I was so excited I almost fell down the bank! She looks much better in real life but the shine off it is keeping me from getting a good scan of it! During that same hunt I also got a belt buckle and "Bull Durham" pendant marked warranted gold plated on the back with what looks like a 14W. The tale is broken off and all the plating is gone but I like it anyway!I haven't found any information as to when either were manufactured so if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate the input!Hopefully I'll be able to get out more and post more often! I love reading everyones posts as it keeps me excited even when I have nothing to post and can't get out! Good luck to you all and for all your posts!
