Took the new toy to the trashiest place I could find...I wanted to see what it would do. Used stock coin program and after 2 hours of hunting...I know for sure what the pulltabs sound like...as well as cans. Its about a 60 year old place, and polluted with pulltabs and trash...but when you get into the coins it sings the sweetest sound. I was only getting 11-13 on sensitivity in auto so that tells me the ground is also very mineralized? I hunted this same place with my last detector and found 2 pennies and a dime in the same amount of time but much more trash. My son gave up after digging a bag full of can slaw and pulltabs and no coins, and he runs a F75. My other hunting partner said he never wanted to go there again...too trashy....he runs a top of the line whites.
Deepest coin today was 5 inches and its very rocky there and hard to dig, so I am really wondering if anything is really much deeper than that. In all it was a great morning, and I like this detector more than any I have tried so far. I'll keep reading and learning from ya'all...this hobby is finally fun again. Lovin me some eTrac!!!
Here are my finds for the day.
