First trip out with the M6

Took the M6 to a local park. This place was pretty trashy. Detector was sounding off almost constantly. I think I may need to get a smaller coil if I am going to hunt it some more. I only dug the pull tab signals that were deeper and anything that read nickel. I could have dug a couple hundred pull tabs I am sure. I did manage to get a 1942 quarter right by a big tree right before I left.

That 6 is a coin hunter, add a smaller coil for the nastier places and youve got a good combo. Sometimes I have to hunt in single tone if the site is to nasty, and with the flip of the trigger can get into tones for addition info on a particular target. Glad you had a good hunt and even a silver quarter, congrats. A good
Christmas hunt.
Merry Christmas,
John

I pretty much left it on the single tone because of all the junk. In less trashy areas I will try the tones mode....

I use the multi tone in those trashy areas with a moderately slow sweep.
That quarter is a damn nice find for your first time out with the M6. Nice going.

I did notice it seemed like when I slowed my sweep speed down a little bit it seemed to perform better. I'll have to take it out again soon if the weather cooperates.....

I would think the 5.3 coil would have done you well. It still
gives you good depth. Does the M6 TAKE the 5.3 coil? I may be wrong.

Yup. Same one the MXT uses.White's sells them for $149.00.

I have the MXT with both the 4X6 and the 5.3 coils. The 5.3 is deeper and pretty good in trash, but for separation in really heavy trash the 4X6 is definitely the king. If I could only have one for that use I'd pick the 4X6 over the 5.3. If you can work them both into your budget eventually it's nice to have both. My two bits.
