Well I diden't come home with my finds pocket bursting at the seams, but I diden't get skunked either. :) Got my exercise in too, some jerk is leaveing his dig holes open. I filled um in as I went along. I hope to catch him so I can give him a good chewing. :veryangry: It's because of creeps like him that we can't hunt any of the parks in Whitefish Montana any more.
Anyway I came home with a total of $1.04 clad and my 1st. wheat cent  as well as a childs ring a .22 round, and of course the usual junk.
As to how I got along with the new machine, I think quiet well for the first time out. However I found that dimes diden't read as dimes, most of the time they showed as penneys and at times just to the left of penneys. and nickels at times read as foil. Perhaps in my excited state I wasen't over the target just right. I was haveing a ball, like a kid with a new toy!! Do you supose I've entered my second child hood at 58 years young?????

Don't get too hung up on whether a dime reads exactly a dime. If a target reads in the coin area, it is probably a coin. Dig it!

It will get better Papa. The 1500 has a bit of a learning curve and more than its share of quirks but once you figure it all out you'll have a ball. Centering the target exactly is crucial with this one as one of the receiving coils is that small hole in the center of the coil-about 2-3 inches in diameter, so it leaves little margin for error.
