First tough Field Test with the Minelab X50

I gave the X50 a good test run yesterday. I took it to a trashy Plantation site that me, Charles Greenlee, Lamar, and Bob bankston had hit hard with Cibola's, Fisher 1270, and a Tejon. At first, the X50 was foreign to me but once I realized what it was telling me, I started finding relics we missed.
I dug a Wellington/Waterloo Button 9 inches deep, straight up and down, and got a good signal. This button commerates Napoleons defeat.
When the X50 gives a constant medium to high signal going over the target, it was constantly a relic. I'm very impressed with the X50. Minelab has a Winner with this machine. My Cibola is going in the closet.

This X-Terra really works! Maybe those field testers were'nt a bunch of "Minelab shills" afterall. Seriously, it is great to hear that you found the X-Terra to perform well on your relic hunt. I occassionally come across "non-coin" items, but can't call myself a relic hunter. However, I can vouch for your comment as to the constant tone. Consistent is the key word with this detector. Tones, target location and numeric display. Thanks for posting your finds. HH Randy

I agree this is cracking detector even batter than I expected after the usual sales hype.

My Explorer is the Beast this X-Terra 50 is the Beauty.

Its so light and well balanced and a joy to swing.
Perfect for those who have trouble swing a heavy detector.

To top it all It finds just as many bits for me as my Explorer maybe not quite so deep but as most finds are in the top 12inches Iam missing very little.

Its also so easy to learn and use its sure to be a real winner for the Minelab team.Jerry.

Glad to hear that the X-50 works for you. Like you pointed out, when the machine tells you it's good, it's good.

Sure wish we had some of those cool relics out here in LA!

Continued good luck with the X-Terra.

The 60 and 30 both hit hard on small brass, much better than I hoped for even in my hot dirt. I dug several internal pieces from a old pocket watch yesterday that sounded to good to be as small as they were and several modern bullets that also hit extremely hard at 8".
So far, I'm more than satisfied with the X-Terra series !

Hi, can the minelab 50 and 30 handle the soil in new mexico? Also, do you have to listen to a threshold hum when your detecting. I am a middle aged woman looking to upgrade from my tesoro deleon. I would appreciate any feedback. thanks lobo2
