First time turning on my Quick Draw II

After spending almost 4 months pouring over my owners manual and every forum post I could find, the weather was finally nice enough to go outside and turn on my Bounty Hunter. The first test was to see how far I could get my trowel into the dirt(still icy at 4") and I was off. Pinpointing was easy(thanks to helpful posts here) and targets were plentiful in all metal mode. I dug the only 5 targets I could find 4" or under and was surprised at the accuracy of the target ID. The clad quarter, dime, and zinc penny and were id'ed correctly on the ID screen as well as the iron nail. I also found a goofy letter 'o' that showed up as a dime. I will try to post a pic later if I can find a way to transfer the file. Thanks for reading. Jimmy

WTG and Congrats on your first finds. Do post pics if you can.

My USB ports are still not functioning, so not pics yet. I did, however, locate the origin of the 'O'. It came from the end of the emblem for a 1969 Olds Toronado. A man I work with id'ed it with no trouble.

Today I went to hunt the local high school parking lot where the snow pile melts. I found a bit of clad and some rubbish. All in all not a bad hour. Jimmy

Just getting into the hobby myself, sure is fun isn't it?!?!?

Cherokeefan68, I am stealing your avatar for later use....

Come to Kansas and we'll wheel and detect sometime.......

I have to admit that hunting the snow melts spoiled me a little. My finds above came with almost no digging. 90% where hiding in thin sand and dead surface grass and the other 10% where within 2'' of the top. Later today I will post my park digs from yesterday. The park has been in use since the 1880's, but unfortunately is super trashy. I had a few firsts though, including my first ring.
