UPS delivered my Quick Draw II this afternoon, so I put it together and went to the vacant lot next door to start learning, spent about an hour and now I'm 4 cents closer to this paying for itself.....Can't wait to get this in the park this weekend....

Hi, motojoe,
I find that using the notch button usually works best for starters. I also have a QDII and I love it. When it says it a nickle, dime or a quarter chances are
great that it is. I have both the 8" and the 4" coils, and by the end of the week I may also have the Radio Shack version of the LandStar. Happy Hunting.

Good start. This is one hobby where time and experience pay off. You'll be surprised how fast you can find enough to pay for the detector. Good luck with your future hunts.

Feels good to have that first day under your belt doesn

ive been detecting with my md for about a month and have found about 2.50 mostley quarters and pennies. so now it only cost me 95.50. :bouncy: so yes it does pay for itself eventually. HH

Ask away bro!, good job on your first day

Good finds for first out...shows you got pinpointing down...now good luck on the good stuff !

Great job on the first finds...if your finding and digging those thin staples, you definitely have pin-pointing down...Now it is just learning wht to dig when you hear them tones sound off...
BTW...If nothing else comes up, I am planning a trip this weekend to Green Lakes State Park in Dewitt, NY...I will put my bike on the rack on the bus, and then get off at a Mall and bike the rest of 10 miles to the lakes...My first sand hunt, so I hope to hit the Gold for the first time...

HH,
