FIRST TIME OUT!

My first real hunt with the 2500 had me a little concerned at first but I am learning its method. I tried "all metal" but it was picking up everything so I tried "coins" mode and ended up on"zero" mode.I used the 12.5 coil for about 5min. but quickly put on the 9" because I seem to pinpoint better with it. My sensitivity also had me wondering, lower sensitivity sometimes worked better than higher sensitivity.
Well here is the pudding.....Highlights are silver ring, 1962 silver dime , Jade broach and over 2.50 in change on 5 hour hunt. I could never go 5 hours swinging my ADS meter and not feel it. The ring really excites me since this was the first time out with this new meter.

:thumbup:WTG, I like the 9.5" for all around hunting and sure like the imaging. Keep us posted with your finds.

coin hunting in the trashy areas the smaller 9.5" coil is best because it will be over less targets and that higher sensitivity will cause bleed-over of target ID, such as a rusty nail registering as a penny. If your digging targets like that back off your sensitivity until you're getting better results. I don't have a GTI 2500 but some principals are the same. I like the large coils for fresh water beaches and large areas without trash. they aren't good for small items like stud earings or fine gold chain but they sure do cover ground. You can use the larger DD coils in moderately trashy areas and cover ground also if the expense is ok with you.
HH and post more finds.
