First Time out with X-70

Got a chance to take the Xterra out in the backyard and I was pleasantly surprised at the capability of this machine. I have a test target area composed of old rusty nails interspersed with a few good targets, much like what you'd find on a relic site. Unlike the F75 I used to have, the X-70 was actually able to see the good targets among the iron. The F75 simply blanked and made a single tone. Now, I'm just waiting on a shorter lower rod so I can get a little better balance with this machine. It seems a little nose heavy right now and not very ergonomic. Has anyone ever performed any mods of the rod setup to get a better balance?

It must be the length of your lower rod as mine seems very well balanced until I use the 10.5 coil, then you can talk about needing better balance. Then again I'm just getting old and weak. Don't eats me spinach any more.. Yuk Yuk Yuk.
