and wide scan 10X12 coil took me a while to get it ground balanced right lots of old crushed brick but once I got it it sings great hunted an old Ghost town this was down about 6 inches and hit very solid

Wow,and found the greatest symbol of the world! The 12x10 can be tricky to GB,because of the size. What a nice piece! I guess you are happy with the vaquero?WTG Barry! :wiggle:

Thanks and I believe its a Keeper going to get the 9X8 stock coil for it I am going to make myself Learn it Because It is like all have stated it has a Language all its own and deep after supertuning it I was amazed at the depth on a few bullet casings I dug as well a couple were down at least 13 inches . Maybe bugging you for some pointers as well later

Outstanding! I put the 10x12 on last June and never took it off. Keep the posts coming.

Awesome find!! That looks like the one I found a while back with my Vaquero...but is yours missing the top piece with the stars? I'm adding a pic so you can see. I have since cleaned it up, but this is what it looked like when I dug it. Not trying to hijack the thread, just wanted to show you that they look almost exact except for the top part.

Bobby as best as I can tell through My Eye Loop there seems to be no broke or damaged areas on the top anywhere I personnaely broke the right wing while cleaning it and had to epoxy it back on Thanks for a pic of yours as well

Hmm, thats strange...I wonder what the difference between the two is? Mine looks pretty good all cleaned up, but it definitely is fragile. And no problem about the pic, I think it's kinda cool that you found one with your Vaquero as well.

Now that's a keeper for sure.

What were your settings?

was running at the mark above Iron and 10 on sens and thres about 3:00 and using the 10X12 Widescan coil also looking for the 10X5 Widescan if someone has one for sell by the way

That is the sweetest coil.It does magic on the vaquero and Tejon. It will slice right thru the trash .It is so light. You can work it closer to the ground. You can easily get around bushes and rough terrain.Old places with high grass, this is the perfect coil.

Sounds like what I need I hunt a lot of old homesites that are in the woods and and have a lot of brush that is hard to get the large wide coils into

If it will stop raining and stay on the cool side i want to run mine on the Tejon.I am not going in rough terrain no more with a big coil.Save it for very open areas.I saw a very impressive trick from a detectorist on Utube using a very small 6" coil to hunt these old house sites with.He actually would scrub the coil under the leaves! It was perfect. He was hitting stuff left and right. You take that 5.75 and scrub it down on the ground.Trust me this gets it.Scrub that coil in a brisk movement close to the ground.I am going to do this with my Tejon and the 10x5. :-D
