First time out with the Nox

I finally received my Equinox yesterday and got out to one of my favorite spots. This place has been pounded for years and years. My first impression was really good although I don’t think it’s better than my CTX but more of a complimentary machine to the CTX. I did manage to pull 7 Indians 6 Wheaties, 1 shield nickel, 3 V nickels and 3 Buffalo nickels. This all came from an area that has been really hit hard. I do think the depth is similar if not better than the CTX although people who don’t have Minelab experience will find it tough to hear those faint deeper targets. I noticed that it really likes nickels. I also noticed that once it hits on a coin, it hits on a coin. The pinpoint is super strong for coin sized targets. I dug way more trash like pulltabs and beaver tails compared to when I use my CTX. This was because nickels came in similar to pulltabs, the ID range is 11-14. Some iron bleeds through and sounds like good targets although I started to decipher when I was gonna to dog iron. It usually sounds weaker and “smaller” compared to coin sized objects. I ran in Parks 1 with my own custom audio settings and my sensitivity was 23. The machine was real stable and I had no EMI even though my cell phone was still on. Overall a good machine, nothing like the CTX but it has a place in my home. Can’t wait to get out again.
