First time out with Silver Sabre

Very nice diggin. And your right, sometimes simple is better. HH

One of the wife's and my favorite detectors. The light weight and quick response makes them perfect for planted competition hunts and they do a good job of general coin shooting etc. The preset ground balance might be a problem in some locations, but the areas we usually hunt, it isn't a problem. Practice thumbing the discrimination knob over different targets and remember or mark where different targets crackle and fall out and you'll soon be identifying likely coin versus trash with enough accuracy that you'll be able to give most TID machines a fair run. They really are a fun, simple, but capable detector.

I made the mistake of putting an O-ring under the discrimination knob, I had to use my free hand to turn it when checking a target. O-rings are good for the other 2 knobs, bad for the discrimination knob...ha

Cadman, I figured that out pretty quickly, also. It took me a bit of practice to become proficient at identifying target by thumbing the discrimination, but I have to say that once understood and mastered, it really works pretty darn well
