First Time Out With My New Tesoro Bandido II

I didn't get skunked.:) I found this real tiny 925 silver pendant and I came close to finding a gold ring. Just look at that pile of trash. Anyone of those pieces of trash could had been a gold ring. I was running minimum discrimination and digging all repeatable signals. I found the pendant by running in all metal no motion mode and flipped over to check it in the discrimination mode which was set at its minimum. I learned that trick from watching Gunnar's videos. The signal was coming in clear in the no motion all metal mode, but was barely audible in the discrimination mode. I dug about a 4 inch deep plug and couldn't find it with my ProPointer. I waved the plug in front of the search coil and got a beep. I had to divide the plug several times before I found the tiny pendant.

I don't think I would of found this tiny silver pendant if I wasn't searching in the no motion all metal mode. It's a game changer.

OH MY,, That took a pile of junk to find that. Now that you have that spot cleaned out, You might find that gold. Nice looking too... KEN

There ya go Tab , this is exactly why I use all metal in the tot lots boxes. Never crossed my mind to run it in AM out in the open then swap over to disc to verify a target , May have to give that a try at a fairly clean ( by me) sports complex I like to hunt.

You know quite well that those small gold pendants ( and obviously little silver ones too) don't always come in clear in disc. Funny though that my Cutlass uMax and Stingray will nail small # 6 lead bird shot all day, and good luck finding those in sand with a pro point

Here's a small 14k cross from a volleyball court last weekend and with the disc at 2 it was cracking a little and AM locked on like a pit bull.

Glad your liking the new toy, I know I'll get me one soon enough :)

Stay safe out there,

Lakota

Through the years I have found some super nice gold and silver jewelry. I usually ask my wife if she would like to have what I have found. She almost always says no.

I didn't even ask her if she might want this tiny silver pendant. She found it laying by the computer and absolutely fell in love with it and asked if she could have it.

You just never know what women might like.

tab thats right every one of those targets could have been a gold ring , thats exactly how i look at it . the only gold ring i found sounded just like a piece of foil , it turned out to be on edge because the heavy part made it sink down on edge a nice 14 K cladda ring and i swear it sound ed crappy but i was in a dig all mode that day and i think thats why no one found it it sounded badd or the numbers may have been to low and they figured 9 Ohh just some foil )

Yeah Gunnar, when I get into one those dig it all modes I don't even think about it, I just dig, because I'm not quite sure what a gold chain or pendant is suppose to sound like.

Would this be of interest to noobies to FIRST develop a speedy and clean retrieval method, if you want to succeed in this sport?
