First time manipulating a photo to make objects look like miniature models

Hello.
I know there are :cam: out there which have a "miniature" setting, so the effect will be done directly to the image.
But I've tried to get this job done by the software used here and this was the first try. Hope you like the result
and get some summer feeling. (Rain is pouring down here...so I had the time).
Anyway, here's the picture.

Did you take this picture indoors? What aperture setting did you use? thanks for sharing! Kelley (Texas) :)

The way I fooled with the focus this old house I found in the woods reminds me of a miniature for some reason....what do you think?

Hello Kelley,
This shot was done during vacation at Dahme beach in Sept. 2014 using the Fujifilm HS25EXR; setting was [AUTO EXR].
Then the picture was manipulated by software to get the effect real things will look like miniature models. It isn't done very well, I know, but I'm
still in a learning process.

Great shot, Dave. Did you do the effect by software or did you use camera effects/tricks? Really well done. I like it.

Oh WOW! Yes, that's what I said when I saw the little house. Was it a school at one time?

I recall a picture similar to that. So cool.

I was later just trying to make it look less distracting because of the branches so I was selectively blurring out the back ground etc. and noticed that it looked a bit like a miniature set, like some people do with toy trains and villages by blurring around the main subject. This could have been an old school house, I don't know. There are a few around here like that. It's only a few miles from here if it's still there.
