First time hunting with my 250

BigDaddy

New member
Went out with my 250 for the first time today. As you can see from the picture, I did find a few things. Will read the owners manual and watch the DVD again. The best part of the hunt was my 16 year old daughter came with me.

That's a start. 26 cents closer to paying for it.

Another Big Daddy!! Welcome from Big Cat Daddy!! By your pic I would advise to put the 250 in Coin mode, drop the Sensitivity to 4 bars (50%) and give it a go again. Find a spot where lots of people go and you will find stuff!! Coins mode will, of course, get you coins, but also silver rings and a few gold rings hit in that mode too!! Since you have a teeenage daughter, ask her where the kids at school hang out on breaks and after class. Go there and you'll be surprised at what they drop!!

Not bad for a first time. Each time you hunt and gain experience the finds will get better and more plentiful. The best knowledge for finding good sites is by talking to people who live in your area. Find out what used to be around years ago. Churches , schools, stores, carnivals. Etc. These sites can pay off very well.

Hey BD,
It's always nice to get a silver, the quarter and the cent are just the very start.
The bonus is you got some quality time with your daughter.
Hang in there, it gets better and better with time n' lots of practice.

Big Daddy, don't fret the value of what you find or don't find. Fishermen don't usually go fishing for the money they'll save, do they? Well, it's the same for "dirt fishing". We don't have to find enough money or jewelry to pay for the machines and expenses. The time well-spent with your daughter is worth more than you could find-whether fishing, dirt fishing, etc. This is a Hobby, not a business, so don't feel like your hobby has to pay for itself. :) HH

You did. good for the first time. Going with your daughter :pRICELESS:clapping:

Very nice start
