First Time Gold!!

I found this the other day(Sat) hunting a school baseball diamond, between the dugout and the Home plate.
This is I found it with a $184 dollar White's Coinmaster detector and not my $1500 dollar DFX and accessories.I say 1500 cause I have dfx,4x6,5.3,6x10,9.5,10DD,8x14 coils and DX-1 probe.
What they say is true. You have to place the coil over it to find it. :)

It has not been appraised yet. I probaly should though. My luck it will be fake.

Beautiful Ring

I went to 2 different places to get it appraised and neither place would do it.
They looked at me funny,(well the 2 women from the stuck up jewelry Shop)
The older guy from another place said the stone was synthetic, he said he couldn't appraise it either.

Congratulations on your first time gold. I really know how it feels as I just found my first gold yesterday. It's a nice big wide wedding band with a large 14K marked on the inside. SWEEEEET! I'm new to the hobby since the first of the year and hunt about 10 hours per week. I've found a lot of coins but this is my first gold ring. I did a Rocky Balboa with my fists raised in the air as I shared my find with a fellow hunter that was with me. Man am I hooked on this hobby. It was really thrilling to actually dig it up (3" under ground). I have been hoping for a ring ever since day one and now I can mark it off the list. Of course I will hope for more.

I found it in an old city park in Central Florida with my new DFX and the 5.3 coil. I am still using factory settings which seem to work great. I have played with a few of the settings to try and gain more depth but I don't really have a handle on that yet. I'm sure I will explore the settings more in a future date.

Anyway I had read about your first gold the other evening and when I found this one just had to share it.

Nice looking ring...Wonder if thay laugh because it is 10k, or because they think it is beneath them??? rude though...
