This was in an old foundation in what must of been a coal box or next to it.We were putting in under ground pipe down in deupage county Illinois. It has a b&f.bc. 2449 on the bottom.I don't know if its a jar or a bottle or whats it for .I've been looking every where butt didn't find any thing that looks like it or what it is any help would be cool thx all

Hi, Not real sure exactly when it was made, but it is similar to bottles made right around 1890's, 1900's. It's probably a common kitchen bottle. Could have had some pickling of some kin. Lots of items were jar'd like olives, pickles, etc.. Most bottles without any writing (embossing) are not worth much during that time period. But a good find anyways. I'd keep poking around for the older ones.

What are the demensions of that jar?

kind hard to tell from the pics standing up it looks like its 12" atleast and looking inside it laying down it makes it look 5-8 inches

maybe a candy jar of some sort
