First Time AT Pro User Finds Silver...

Gonehunting

New member
I got to hunt a nice home built in 1917 and the landowner was really interested in metal detecting. He had never used a detector before. So I brought an AT Pro along. The yard was super trashy so I hooked up the 5x8 ProFormance. Well long story short I ran him thru the settings showed him several good targets and bad targets (iron audio) and kind of followed him. After He started getting used to the tones we headed to the front yard. One of his first coin targets was a 1939 Mercury dime... 30 mins later, after telling him to dig clean repeatable signals, he found his second silver, a war nickel with the S mint mark. I didn't want to clean it off and told him to clean it later.. Needless to say he was hooked. I left the machine with him till next week to continue hunting his yard.. I'm sure I will be getting calls on more good finds.
Here is the video I already posted this in the E-trac forum, but thought the AT guys and gals would love to see this... You can fast forward to 5:22 to get to where he found his coins... He was pumped..

Thanks! After last weeks uproar on our hobby, I really wanted the other side to see how important and useful a md'r can be. Whether we use this brand or that. We aren't just a bunch of hole diggers for profit...

thank you....

Now THAT is how the TV shows should be done...NOT that goofy garbage we see..
WTG on researching the ring and returning it and the dog tag...
