Hello everyone, a little over 3 weeks ago my uncle recommended this forum so that I could read up on the X-Terra 705. He is a new 705 owner and seems to be very happy with it. I had a pre-owned older Tesoro Cortes that I bought for next to nothing from a neighbor and I only ever used it twice. I knew that I would enjoy detecting but I did not feel comfortable with the Cortes and frankly, it was too heavy to use for a long periods of time. I decided to sell it on eBay and put the money towards something new. My choice was between the new Tesoro Cortes or the X-Terra 705. After many hours of looking around on the web I felt that the 705 was the right choice for me.
Tomorrow I wil have used the 705 for 3 weeks. So far I have found 119 coins, 2 tokens and a sterling silver ring. Being so new to the detector, I'm amazed at finding that much so far. I'm hunting in two fairly large local parks that I've been told were hunted over pretty well by other people. I was surprised the other day to pull up my first silver dime in one of these parks.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't have done just as well with the new Cortes but how can I complain about what I've seen so far as a new user. I can't wait to do some hunting in some older locations.
I just felt that I had to post something and thank everyone for all of the good information on this forum that helped me make my decision and learn even more about the detector.
