First the Beach then the River!

Lots of Nickels so I know I was in Gold territory! LOL
Still had fun though!

This area in the river is where everyone jet skis on the weekend and I just have
this feeling it's loaded with jewelry, just need to get my water proof phones still.

I've been dying to hit some water areas. I got a ton of spots around my place to hunt. Looks like fun. Did you take any precautions like putting silicone on o rings? I just don't feel right submerging the at pro but that's what it's made for.

I only went up to my waist so far so it hasn't been submerged yet but I know
how you feel! haha Kind of scary isn't it?
But I will do it when I get my headphones for sure. We need to make sure the machine
is good within our warranty period anyway just so we know.
Hey! If it leaks I know Garrett will take of it from what I've been reading out here, right?

The only seals we can really worry about is the speaker seal and the battery seal anyway right?
I would probably put some silicone grease on the battery seal before going in the water
but the speaker seal should be good to go and the main cover seal I wouldn't worry about..

Hit that water!! The ATP should be good to go for you even if you don't have the WP 'phones (unless you intend to dive). I'm on my second season with both ATP's and had only one problem(face plate leaked) which Garrett fixed, no charge. Since then, it's been smooth sailing!!

been up to my neck many times works great best relief on a hot day

I put my AT Gold in the bath tub for about 15 minutes just to make sure after I bought it....

Great work! :clapping:Yeah these things are awesome in the water. They hit good and deep and seem easier to swing once the control box is submerged, a guy can sort of crouch and swing a wide swath and cover a lot of ground pretty quickly.

I use the blue garrett ones right now and other than not being able to adjust the volume, they are fine and would recommend you get yourself a set if you think your headphones are gonna get wet. The price is good also.

Neil,
The Blue ones dont have adjustable volume on them? I thought they did..
Are they loud enough and does the volume still come out the speaker also?
I've read that without volume control the external speaker still sounds off..

The blue one's have NO adjustable volume.
I guess everyone is free to throw their money away...

Pretty soon you will see a much better alternative for a few more bucks.

Thanks and with all due respect we all understand we also understand that some of US have to do what we can afford at the time as well as hope we get lucky and find that Gold ring that will offset the cost difference in the Headphones . Mind you I am not saying that the Grey Ghosts Headphones which I believe you are speaking of are not worth the money just saying I myself would have to get lucky to offset the difference as the fellow I buy my accessories from tells me that he has the Grey Ghost waterproof headphones as well but the price on them is what keeps people from buying them due to the cost of all other things such as the detector and extra coils and pinpointers by the time you add it all up you better have a lot of places to search and be able to find those finds that could help offset the cost of what you spend or you may just get frustrated enough to say the hell with this hobby cause the cost verses the finds don't add up JMHO

So is Garrett coming out with new headphones or are you in the Garrett AT Pro form humping the brand you sell????

I dont think Garrett is coming out with any new headphones from what I have researched and talked with a few dealers probably along the lines of the Grey Ghost models I would expect not saying they want be good headphones just saying that I for one will not be able to offset the cost difference in them
