First Sovereign.

All I can say about this machine is,with me working in Australia at the present,I find that most all users of the Sovereigns, all models, like the first one the best...

I had one about three years ago and thought it was a good unit. The only problem there is no volume control on this Sovereign.I usually watch Ebay for deals and you don't see a lot bargains on Sovereigns.I have seen a couple of the Originals on Ebay but don't expect to buy them for 275.00.The word is out and they sell fast for a decent price.I should have kept mine. They are out there for sale, just more difficult to find.Good Luck.

I had 2 of the originals and I didnt like them at all compared to the next model the Sovereign XS. They didnt seem to get the depth the XS did and the tones were much clearer on the XS. I know some really liked them and unless i got 2 bad ones I feel the XS did better for me anyway.

..........................I agree with Rick ...........that the word is out .........about how good the Sovereign XS is.......and people are wanting/keeping them or asking a premium to part with it!!.............Joe

Labeachbum, whoa, the seller has a 75% feed back.Though comes with two coils and a nice rod asm a very high risk.

i think when people buy them and see they are a great detector just keep them.iv sold 4 of them to try other detectors and now own my 5th and will keep it!

The XS is my backup for my GT. I like the plug-in battery better than the drop-ins on the XS2, etc. Every time I sell my XS to someone (usually a friend who talks me out of it), I get a "naked" feeling until I find another one. They are real easy to set up for "silent search" and then they act much like my GT. Great backup for the GT!

I would buy from him...

I have the original sovereign not the XS and it's a great machine goes deep. It has the iron mask toggle. I wonder why Minelab got rid of this feature but then brought it back with the GT, hmmm. Sometimes older can be better. Many who have the original sovereign swear by them and that's why you don't see a lot of them up for sale.

I just won the Soverreign off ebay, but the shaftand pole are broken and unrepairable. Anyone know where I can get a custom built or even an original one to replace it? I also would like to find the original owners manual for this First sovereign if possible. Let me know if anyone has an idea! If I can`t get it assembled I may have to sell it , but really want to give this one a try.
THANKS!!

I have not seen one listed for sale on any forum or ebay as far as I can remember.Where have they all gone to???

Where they have gone is in the hands of people who love the darn things so much they don't want to sell them ;)
I bought mine off this very forum actually from a good guy. I would just keep a close on on the classifieds section.
Not too mention that this way you know you're getting a good machine from a reliable source.

I won't be getting rid of my GT for anything unless another Sovereign model comes out and improves upon the previous model which for the record Minelab has been ding over the years.
