First SLQ!

REVIER

Well-known member
In a lawn I have been hunting for weeks nothing us easy but now all I have left are the really crazy signals that I skipped over in the past...till now.
In my mineralized soil infested with crazy iron garbage out of the same hole came in order...
First a 1942 non silver nickel, then a large marble sized round piece of iron slag, next scoop brought up this silver beauty, a copper memorial cent was shallow in the sidewall of the hole near the top.
My F70 had the 10" elliptical on it today, my coin settings for this crazy soil still working and seem to work nicely using this concentric.

Not solid and jumped up and down from iron to the low 90's but it did not act quite like a true iron signal that stayed low or with some falsing to the high ranges when deeper nor did it stay within a higher block of numbers like most deeper good targets in this soil tend to do.
Just enough of a good enough signal to peak my curiosity...honestly I would have been happy if there was only a wheatie down there with that iron and other stuff but this is much better.
The quarter was 3-4" deep...4" if I had to guess.
Disc 23, sense on 90, thresh at -4, 1F on the tones in SL speed and it was pretty quiet.
Also checked this signal this signal in all metal at 60 sense, 9 thresh, SL speed and hit all these targets the same way

Howdy REVIER--

Congratulations on your first Liberty Standing Quarter! In my opinion they are the most beautiful coins ever minted by the U.S. !! I hope that you find many more. Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!

Thanks all!

I too consider this one of the most beautiful designed American coins.
Too bad they wear so badly...especially the date.
I think the walking liberty has it beat by just a hair in the beauty department, but I found one of each and I am equally proud of both.

Very nice find, and one that is still on my list to be found!! Well done!! :clapping:

Pre 1925, date worn off just like the one I found. Congrats!

Got to love those SLQ's they're few & far between, Congrats!!:clapping:
