First SLQ and a Barber Dime in Great Shape

Got my first Standing Liberty Q in a side yard at a friends house on a day when all I was finding was modern quarters, then bam, surprise. Of course you cant read the date. The Barber pictured I got two evenings ago along with an 1888 and 1874 Indian head pennies at a private residence. I only rinsed it with water and used a soft tooth brush. I've never gotten one in such good shape. The photo might not show it well but you can see all of "Liberty" and on edge all the little lines are perfect. It's just amazing that it was probably sitting there almost a hundred years just 4 inches deep and looked like that practically right out of the ground. That always gets me about silver. Thanks for looking, CO

Osgoo I don't don't have nothing like that yet, but thats what it's all about for my to keep hunting.:wiggle:

Brian, yes there are the three extra stars below the eagle, does that mean a later or earlier date? Yes the LTD is an amazing machine. I assume you' re continuing to rake in the good finds, thanks, CO

Curt no stars would indicate it's 1916 or 1917 coin.

Great finds, I love finding full LIBERTY Barber dimes (I've been fortunate to find several, but only dateless SLQ's)

Absolutely stone beautiful Barber, osgood. Congrats!

The SLQ may not have a date, but it's still a prized possession in my book...since I sure haven't found one yet.:ranting:

Kind of funny, probably 15-20 Mercurys, 4 Barbers, a Seated Liberty dime and a 1935 half...but no quarters older that 1941 yet.

Marcomo, I hunted years ago and recently 2 years ago started up again; It took a while to get that quarter. I am hoping to some day find a Seated Liberty, I know date wise Ive been in the right dirt, but just haven't hit it yet. Thanks for the comments, Curt O

Fantastic finds
Good job
