First silver

Dug a merc. 8 inches between foil and pulltab never gave a 1245-46 rather 1219 suprised to see silver . I was using a tornado coil with battery mod for Etrac see pics on mod forum,,,,,CEDAR

That is why big Coils rarely give you more finds. Your Coil blended the difference between the Foil and the Silver Dime, which is normal. With no further info I bet you were also running pretty high Sensitivity as well.

I have a small coil as well silver will be out of reach in this particular area 11 inches or more and been hunted to death people have a tendacy to not dig pulltabs which can mask good targets and I would agree a better scenario with a small coil, and yes I run the machine as hot as the ground will alow and finding coins like this,,,,,CEDAR

How long have you had yout Etrac be willing to share my set up the coin in the pic was 11 inches that was a few years ago .Found a merc. about 40 yards from where it was found the other day. Im not the Etrac guru I just have it set up the way it works for me pretty much open pattern watch the numbers and decide to dig.The only time I make changes is in trashy areas back off sensitivity auto 1 with small coil and trash density high fast off deep off.Keep it symple once its set turn on and go machine.One of the biggest tools on the Etrac is the responce I have mine set on pitch hold witch sets the threshold tone to the last target recieved wich alerts me to targets that are deep and holds the pitch to go back and investigate.If you want to get into all the patterns and programs the guys on this forum would be better suited to help you sending program info through the machine dont know how to use it ,I have the progam that I use written down I can send a pic the pull ring was close to 11 inches I dont know what it is ,the hair pin marked sterline with five diamonds,,,,,CEDAR
