Well its taken a little while but today I got a victorian sixpence dated 1866, yahoo . It was bitterly cold in the field so I headed for the shelter of some houses and trees along one edge of the field where I discovered a brook with a footpath running alongside, so as it was in good shelter I followed it finding old and new stuff so I found what I thought was a decimal penny and chucked it in my pouch, got home and washed all my finds . Lovely condition and very little wear. Found out what its like detecting on frozen ground today, hard work innit?

Would like to see a pic of that coin, sounds pretty cool.I know all about hunting frozen ground and yes it is a challenge haha..hh rick in mi.

Congrats Davey:cheers: and here is a picture of a 1866 Vicky Sixpence, just for you Rick.

Hard frosts all week Davey, and snowing today, maybe able to get out next week.

Cheers and Beers.
