I pulled a merc 1944 about 6" and the golden was singing high today! Sorry have problems posting pics here, hank

Hi Hank,

Congrats on the Mercury dime, I'm guessing that this is the first silver with your Golden

:clapping: Hank, now the golden is for sure your favorite detector!.Hombre it is not nice to give greenhorns a hard time here,so it's his first silver, give the man a break, his detector has been overloading!

How cool is that!! Great job with that Golden, I'm having a blast with mine.

Thanks guys , means a lot ,I found more in my early days of detecting , just hit a dry spell to I got the GU, you guys are great no doubt! Hank

Congrats on your 1st Silver with the Golden! You found one of my all time favorite coins! Beale.

If one were to really think about it,why so many silver dimes being found?.Simple, silver dimes were so easily lost due to being very thin, heavy for the thin small size, hard to hold on to compared to other coins.Perfect example, some fifteen years ago i went detecting and found a nice mercury dime and went to my mothers house and my sister was there and said did you find anything,so i pull the shiny merc out to show my sister and she reaches for it and in a spilt second slips through her fingers down into my mothers newly refinished couch. We looked in ever small spot under,in,you name it.Never seen it again. These small silver dimes are just hard to hang on to.Grubber

Hi Grubber, did you run your metal detector over your mother's couch to see if it could find the lost dime? I'd bet your detector could have found it, I wonder if your mother still has the couch, maybe you could still find the lost dime, would make an interesting story!

I think so Hombre,me and old dad will have to take a look.Mom past on and this would make a good story. She loved that couch to,that is why i didn't tear it to pieces to get my prised mercury dime find.Plus i got the detector pro pulse induction pinpointer.I will check it out thanks.Chucky
