First silver with the F4

Active member
I got my F4 back about mid-July, and have not regretted buying it one bit. With the 11" DD coil it is great for those wide open spaces and I've had a fair bit of success with it hunting around and over football fields etc. Today I noticed an area which had been graded and bulldozed by the local Council, levelling the area a bit. I had detected this general area before, and often find some coins. but I thought I'd give the F4 a go over some of the graded dirt. Didn't find many coins, but managed to snag a 1929 halfpenny (copper) and a 1947 florin (50% silver). These were my first two pre-decimal coins with the F4 and my first silver with it. I didn't have a lot of time to spend at the location today, but I will be going back. HH.

It's just a pleasure to use isn't it? It does exactly what they market it to do - too bad they all don't :) Looking forward to seeing pics of those two finds. Good luck!

I agree with Shambler, the F4 is very easy to use and a great detector for the price. I gave mine to my daughter, wish I had it back but you know how that goes. Furious T, hope you have continued success.

Thanks guys! Yes, it is a pleasure to use. I'll try for photos Shambler, but might have to wait for my daughter to get back on deck...I'm still a novice in the photo area, but I'm learning. Thanks again.
