First Silver with the CTX

Waynos

New member
First Silver with my CTX 3030 and my first standing liberty quarter!!
Under a magnifying glass a 1929 is barely readable.
But it's silver and I'll take it all day long
HH everyone

The 1916-24 quarters had the date exposed and it wore off quickly, the later dates had the date more recessed and I think if it was a 1929 the date would be in better shape. Hard to tell from the photos.

I only could see it by magnifying glass and even then it's a big eyestrain lol
Maybe what I think is a 9 is really a 4?
Wish my camera would cooperate with my magnifying glass but I just can't get a good closeup

A very nice silver find! For me, it's very fascinating to think about the things we find and the history behind these coins, relics etc;. I love historical stuff and contemplating who might have owned these things! It would be nice to get the back story i.e. where it came from etc;.If your able to detect S.L.Q's, there has to be more collectible targets there:thumbup:

It was in a rhubarb patch on a property my parents own...US census shows my stepfather's family there in 1860 but can't find any earlier records thus far.

Take SLQ any day of the week. Congrats!

Nice find. Anytime you can pop up a silver, it's a thril to see that shining surface staring up at you!
