march 22 2011 :yo: just a short hunt at the park i just got my first 1964 silver quarter it was 5 inches down with no mint mark my ace 250 is hitting silver now

What is it about silver Washingtons that make them so hard to find? I've found Liberty quarters, but never a Washington. Congratulations on your silver. Condolences regarding your Dad.

Yeah, I guess those Washington silvers are so few and far between because when the govt quit makin' silver coins, people decided to hang on to the ones that they had at the time. So, fewer of them were lost in the dirt.:shrug: Happy Hunting!:)
