Well, it wasn't that great of a hunt for my buddy Lee and I Sunday, but at least I got two silver coins under my belt with my SE. Right off the bat I got a wheatie and then a 58 rosie. Got a couple more wheaties and then we broke for lunch break. I put on my heavy weight SEF 10x12 coil and got a 1910 Canadian dime. She was pretty worn on the front side and probably been slid over a few coffee shop counters. Got two more wheaties and a cool James E Pepper token. It had a hole drilled in it and I wasn't quite sure what it was. Did some research and it was a token that was wired onto bottles of James Peppers whiskey bottles and that was what the hole was for. Guess this company was in business making whiskey in Kentucky from 1780 till 1916 and then it was bought out by another company. I'm thinking this token is at least dated back to 1916. She was really black when I dug it up and I have it soaking in olive oil now and will try and clean it a bit more and post a picture later. Not sure that I really learned much using my SE as the targets were few and far between and I was pretty much digging everything. About the only sounds that I was pretty sure on was the wheaties and the silver. A good six plus more hours on my SE and lots much more to learn for sure. I think this park we went to is pretty well cleaned out by now and would be surprised if the seasoned detectorists out there could find much more, but then again who knows for sure. My buddy Lee got five or six wheaties so it wasn't a total loss for him either. As always, we had a good time and nothing better then finding a few old coins and detecting with a good friend. Thanks for looking and HH.
