Stopped by my local park today on the way home. Only had about 30min to spend. The park is old and has a few dense sections of woods so i walked until i found the oldest group of trees. Settings were, Discrim, Sens 93, Disc 1, Notch 4, 2f tone, PF process FG 72. Off i went getting nickle hits about 4in down and the pull tabs were all over. Digging them i knew i was in a good spot. They were the older beaver tail kind. Not 10min into the short hunt i got a nickle dime signal. Playing around with it making short sweeps and turning 90 and sweeping again i was able to get two different targets and they were only about an inch apart. Depth meter was at the bottom "deep" so i pulled the trigger and pinpointed it and said 10in deep. I'm thinking what do i have to lose and wanted to see both targets come out. I dug down a good 8in and where the soil changed to clay there she was! Dug a little to the right and there the tab was! Awesome stuff! Everything Ive learned here really payed off and i can Waite to give this place some more time.

wow nice find...yea i would hit it hard out there..did you decide PF mode to be deep..freq 7..

Great photos and article EZ; any particular reason why you used the PF mode, or just thought you'd try it? How does it compare with default process mode or did you notice any real change? BTW, it's good to see silver looking up at you from the bottom of the hole, hmm...Jim.

Humble, in the soft, often damp soil deep in the woods i find that PF is better for some reason. If i go to the open grassy picnic area the soil is more compact and the DE/BC seems to be a little better. I do notice that targets such as dimes that are over 5in deep give off a penny tone and signal. This is at the very bottom of the depth im running.
