I knew it was only a matter of time to find my first silver coin with the Anfibio Multi. I have found a handful of wheaties and a buffalo nickel at places I have hunted hard for years. Saturday weather was in the low 40's so I hit a field outside of an old football stadium. The school is from the 1920's so over the years I have found numerous silver coins along with a couple of stray Indian pennies. The oldest silver coin was a Barber dime and that was found ten years ago and was very deep.
I hunted for about three hours and only found 10 clad coins and was not having a very good day with the Anfibio. I sometimes have days where nothing seems to click and Saturday was one of those days. I was ready to quit detecting so I made one long pass along the fence of the actual football field. My car was parked close to this fence and I was getting close to it when I got a deep bouncing high 80's to low 90's signal. My pinpointer went off at about 8 inches so I dug a wide scoop and removed the dirt with my hand. I saw a silver rim and immediately recognized the back of a Barber dime. Nothing outstanding, but a 1911 Barber from about 9 inches. It was found about 20 feet from where the first Barber was found. I have hunted this fence line many, many times and this detector rooted a good find out.
I was hunting in 5khz-three tones, sens 91, isat off, and all other settings at default. I am going to rave some more about this detector. Deep, accurate, and feels just plain good in your hands. I can't wait to rehunt all of my favorite spots. I have only put the coil over a small sampling of my spots.
