First Silver w/ the E-Trac a 1786!

Marc in Bavaria

New member
Got out for a couple more hours today with the E-Trac to get better acquainted. Had plans for hitting the woods but couldn't resist the construction site of a new road on the way. I found a Nazi 10 Penning, you might be able to make out the swastika, and a 1786 1 something-or-other, I have to research it in my German coins book but it is probebly the Kindom of Bavaria. This is my first silver with the E-Trac. Also pictured is what I believe to be an old fashioned clothes hanger which were sowed into the clothes (correct me if I'm wrong). I am still using the factory presets to learn on. I am beginning to love this machine!

Great finds, Marc. I was stationed at Rhein Main AB outside of Frankfurt from 1982 to 1985. I never had a metal detector while there but it would have been great to have one. Those coins you found are great pieces of history. I look forward to seeing more of what you find. Dan

Thanks Dan, yeah, the Frankfurt area would be a great place to have a MD, a lot better chance to find the Roman stuff along the rivers and in the fields. I remember spending a couple nights at the replacement battalion in Rhein-Main back in 1990, had my first German beer there. :beers:

I lived in Hannau, near Frankfurt, for a couple years 1989-1992 - sure wish I was into metal detecting then. I got into detecting in 2006 just before retiring out of Korea (Found a lot of coins in a 3 month time frame) Only if I had started sooner. Korea 2004-2006 1998-1999.
