First silver ring with the v3

I got my first silver ring with the v3i today at +8" down. It is a dainty little ring, 2.4grams.

I set my vdi's to 15-45 and 78-94 and then would use the analyze mode to see if the 15-45 signals where hitting on the 22.5. This way all the zinc pennies didnt have to get dug and I could be sure I was not passing on gold. Zinc pennies stand up really strong with the 7.5 frequency, I know I may miss some gold this way but I had allot of ground to cover.

I ended up pulling 13.20$ in clad. I was really only trying to dig quarters. $11.75 of them.

The ring was underneath a quarter. I got a strong hit of around 92 and thought wow must be silver. I pulled the quarter out of the hole and then scanned again for another quarter and I got the high vdi again. So I started digging and out it came. Silver getting machine this is.

Nice little silver ring!
I see you got a half also. Dont come by them too often.
Good job!

A pretty ring too........

Small silver coins like the half dime will hit hard on the 7.5kHz as will Indian heads and also the old silver Canadian 5 cent pieces. If I'm in an area where there's some history I'll go for them deeper zinc type signals.

Absolutely....

This has been a low income apartment complex since the mid 70's. I know there is gold there and plan on going back and taking my time. I passed up most of the dimes because there were so many quarters. Half the Mexican children that were watching me had anywhere from 4-10 grams of 14k on there wrists or necks. The place is going to be a gold mine in a couple of years...:detecting:

Any kids can wear jewelry and it all isn't 14K or even real. Nice ring. Rob

It is usually the Hispanic crowd around here that adorns their children in Gold. I myself was raised in a half Hispanic/Mexican family and wore gold. I also took my first treasure hunting trip with my Foster Dad. I rarely saw any on the other neighborhood kids wearing any.

It is more of a cultural thing and people should be aware of it if they are detecting and looking for areas of high opportunity. Ethnicity is often relevant, just like on the annual census:angel:

Hey Burl,

Nice finds. I found one similar, real small almost a size for a younger child.
good clad count as well.
