First silver ring with the compadre !!

Stoof-tabsallday

Well-known member
So right in front of the entrance to my group of apartments is full of tons of tones. Lots of trash but today I said what the heck, not a far walk.
Great haul though!!!
First silver ring.
2 nickels from the early 60s that are still silver looking (newer ones turn red here.)
2 whole rows of pennies, some nickels, a trinket of some kind and a silver ring.
Says 925. Also made in Thailand but whatever lol.
First time posting finds besides that half dollar.
Normally mine are all clad
Also found my first wheat penny!! A 45 no mint marks.
Food day today wi th the one knob wonder!!

Thats a cool looking ring . It looks styled after American Indian work , funny its made in Thailand .

Yeah. Not sure what that stone is. Doesn't seem to be too expensive. Also seems stepped on, but I dont care lol.
I do live that compadre. It's like a vicious cycle lol. I have the most time on that detector so I like to grab it more, leading to even more time on it.
I do like it and want to get the 5.75, just to have it lol. Would have come in handy yesterday for the trash, but the 8 did wonderfully.

Good job!

So when do we get to see your writeup of your detectors, pros and cons, depth, etc? How much deeper is your Fors Relic than the Cibola?

Well I haven't done any official testing, but I will say this.
For my ring hunt in a smaller area, I tried the relic then put it away. Even just on DI3 I picked out things way over 12" in the same area I hunted with the tesoros.
Like really deep. All trash but so deep I've decided to run my tesoros over the whole area first to take all the "surface " stuff of the first 8 inches.

I'm sure alot depends on the coil. I'm using the 5.5x10 now and it doesn't punch as deep as the stock relic coil.

I'm sure the modded cibola with a larger rsd coil would punch very deep.

To me they're 2 different machine for two different styles of hunting.

I still have alot to learn about the relic and it's ID and aettings.
I can't help grabbing my tesoros though.

turn the relic down get a small coil 5" and go to work

they will all work there just the dulled down compadre is just that and that is an advantage in some spots, but the relic will work there also I have used Tesoro's on one if need be, I think a lot of people (men) think turning everything up to 11 is the only way anything will work proper

so the relic will work there if set right.

remember we don't run golden slipper horses in the Melbourne cup always remember that right :poke:

AJ

Haha I meant all my tesoros aj. I use the cibola for the ring.
That relic still punches crazy deep with sensitivity set down to 40 haha.
But I do have the 5 in. Coil . Not enough ground cover. Take me forever. Not trashy area.
I like the 10x5.5. Because it's only 5.5 wide for separation, but 10 long for coverage. Gray middle ground.

Only picked the compadre for this hunt in this thread was simple.... 6 drinks in, wanted to hunt, didn't wanna drive. Grabbed it, walked out the front door and started swinging. Taking breaks, of course, for more drinks.
Most lucrative hunt yet and was half in the bag, go figure.
There are 6 of these doors on each building, 12 buildings. So when I want to coin shoot in heavily walked areas, I have them.

Just curious how they compare. Pros and cons of each. Why do people pay $300 on ebay for a Bandido or Eldorado that the Cibola or Vaquero blows away in depth.

I have found it odd the Tejons on ebay ain't that hot, going for about the same price as a Vaquero.

Looks like you are having fun with the Tesoros. I use my Compadre about 95 % of the time. I just enjoy using it. A smaller coil in that trash will help a lot. Have fun... KEN
