First silver of the year !

Headed out yesterday morning to meet Park Pirate and was surprised to see three other guys already detecting the park when we arrived. Was good to see Butch, Mark and AJ out there. Only had a short window to hunt before the athletic fields got a little too busy. I was lucky to dig this 1948-D Washington quarter that was surrounded by bottle caps, pull tabs and can slaw ! First silver coin of the year and nice to get a quarter early. Last year, I didn't get a silver quarter until December !

Nice find my friend! Amazing how the SE sniffs them out. Point of interest- my very first silver quarter, and only second silver coin ever, back in 1991 was a 48-D Washington! Hope to hook up with you guys soon!

Where did you guys wind up going? Mark stayed and AJ and I went over to LP for some redemption, I ended up scoring two roached Indians and a Barber Quarter.. Always feels good to see that shine.

Hello Ed in upstate, congratulations on that washington! I too have hit pull tab heaven and have done well this spring with silvers.
