First silver of the year and other finds.

Got out yesterday with Park Pirate and BRATNY at one of our hunted to death city parks. While Butch was digging his find of a lifetime (1877 indian head cent) all I could manage was a 1901 indian head cent and a crusty Buffalo nickel. Had a little better luck today with 1866 and 1883 indian head cents, first silver of the year (1905 Barber dime) and a 1901 V nickel.

Nice finds, congrats on the first silver. Looks like a nice barber.

I'm sure Tony and I walked over it many times. Butch was using a real small 4-5 inch coil. We were talking about finding an 1877 no more than 15 minutes before he dug it. He said he would be happy just to find one Indian head cent because he was skunked for the day. I see him dig a plug and he says I found my Indian head. I told him it better not be an 1877. He said it's 1870 something as he brushed off the dirt. When he said you're not going to believe it, I knew what he had found !
