First Silver of 2012 and first in Philippines

Decided to try some beach detecting today in Talisay, Philippines. A word on the beaches here. It is not like USA at all...there are no woman in bikinis, woman laying on blankets to get a tan. Philippine woman do not like the sun; they even carry umbrellas in the sunshine. Philippine culture is a shy culture and you very seldom see any woman in swim suits let alone bikinis. There are a few beaches where tourist go and where some Filipinos where bikinis but not near where I am. A lot of kids just swimming so I did not expect to find a lot of jewelry.

I did manage to find 2 10 Peso coins today; this is the largest denomination coin in circulation. 44 Pesos is equal to 1 dollar so a 10 peso coin is about 23 cents. Found a childs ring also on the first beach. It got hot early so took a break and came back to a second beach in town. There I only managed 2 coins but I got a reading which was breaking up but sounded "silvery" so I decided to dig. I scooped some sand and still did not see target so scanned the hole and did not hit anything right away. Moved some sand around then got a twang hit and up came this nice 925 silver bracelet!!

A lot of people were watching and one lady tried to take the bracelet so I called it a day.

Coins Found:

Two 10 Peso coins
Seven 5 Peso coins
Eleven 1 Peso coins
Two 25 centavos coins
One 5 centavos coin

NICE JOB, great find -- but I'm with banditicey -- what do you mean "she tried to take it..." like, she tried to ROB you?!

Steve

When I pulled it out she was grabbing for it and saying something which I did not understand. My Step Son told me later she was saying "someone is looking for that" and kept trying to get it from me. We just left so they would not keep bothering me.

I remember reading a post way back about kids following the MDer and when
he found a Silver Dime a Kid grabbed it and ran away with it.

I guess we need to dodge all sorts when enjoying our hobby

Keep safe and Keep Happy
