First Silver Find

Hi Guys,
I am super excited because I just found my first silver coin. I am new to all of this and just picked up a Compadre from John on here and I love it. The crazy thing is that a friend of mine with pro detectors has been at my property three times and never found this handsome fella. Anyway, I am totally hooked now.

Hi Ted, and welcome to the best hobby in the world! Whatever direction "The Fever" takes you in, for best of the Fun and Success from it , I would suggest a couple, or more, of things for you to pursue . Research! Research is mostly just history, and that in itself is another great hobby(especially for rainy days). All the really successful and fun enjoying folks all do LOTS of research , so Ask Lots of Questions of Them! Most all of them really enjoy and want to help get you new folks started off right and doing all the right things to help you and to "help our hobby". Don't rush yourself! This Hobby involves much more than most new folks can imagine! Patience , Patience, slow down and remember to enjoy every " Dig" you make! Friends, Friends, a good Digging Buddie , or two or 3 or more can be the best Find/ Blessing you will ever gain from this Hobby ! Wow, I feel really terrible. You were actually right the first time. I chose a character from a show that I enjoy as my username but my name is, in fact, Ted...So, you were good to go.

Thanks for the fantastic advice! I love the support I have received so far and everyone is just really nice. It really is a fantastic hobby. I just wish I would have discovered it a few decades ago.

Have found four silver rings two in the water and two in the dirt
But still no silver coins

Congratulations! I remember my first silver find. It was a small ring found in a park. I was pretty pumped about it.
I remember my first gold find too. It was a 10K ring found with a Bandido in a tot lot.
