First silver eating utensil...

...part of one, anyway.
I have found plenty of plated spoons, always hoped they were solid silver but they never were.
This one was buried in some small woods in a park behind an area that used to have some old houses.
The broken edge shows no sign of plating, I scratched deep into the surface and silver looking all the way down, it has that silver "sound" that rings when you drop it on a hard surface plus it's really heavy for its size.
Don't ask me where the rest of it is, I looked hard around the area but no luck.
If this little thing is this heavy the entire piece would have been a nice chunk o silver to own but I am happy with just this small part.
Another item checked off the bucket list.

Nice find! I found the handle from a silver baby spoon that was turned into a ring. Using parts of the handles appears to be a popular use for old silverware.

Now that you mention spoon rings, I remembered about 5 years ago I found one with the silver tip like this that was made into a ring.
I guess this is my second piece of silver cutlery if you count that one.
Hope to find a full size complete spoon one day.
