Went to an old baseball field where some of the greats used to play back in the early 1900's. Did some moonlight detecting from about 2030 to 0030. Found 10 wheats too and some clad. HH

Outstanding! Over here on the West side near MKG on the Lake we still have snow on the ground! Great work!:clapping:

GoBlue, where are you from? I'm out in Farmington Hills.

Great dig! Too bad on the merc. I've never found a merc 16 anything. But I have found two barber dimes that year. Makes the heart skip a beat. Go get some more!

Im from Grand Rapids area, I wonder how good it is in the Detroit wasteland to go metal detecting. How safe too. Probably would have to carry a gun!

Congrats on a great bunch of finds !

I found this 1 pistol weight yesterday. I don't really know much more about it other than what is says on the coin weight. I'm hoping an expert on these kind of coin weights can give us more of an idea about it. The pictures I have taken are showing obverse and reverse in the alignment that the coin weight was struck/hammed.

Heh everyone, good to hear some Michigan digging stories. I live in the Monroe area about 30 miles south of Detroit, all I can say is its tough in the parks, think they have been hit hard over the years. Most of my hunting is done on private property, and I do well that way. Lot of old parks in Detroit but I would probly recommend hunting with a partner at least. Not that Detroit is any worse than any other city in my opinion, but obviously safety is a concern. Awesome mercs "go blue".
