My thoughts on the Deus are going to be very straight forward. Very stable at 90 sens. The sound or tones are very nice, best I have ever heard from a detector. The weight (having swung it all day with the 11" coil) is super light. Programing is very easy. I went on a small half day relic hunt at an old park in San Francisco Calif. This park has been around from the mid 1800. The area we hit was dirt and has a mixture of you name it you will dig it. Trash, iron, relics and coins. If some of you are buying the Deus and hope it's the holy grail then you will not like it. When you hunt the kind of park we did you will dig a ton of trash. When I fired up the Deus, the trash was giving me a high tone because I'm only using two tones. One for iron one for everything else.

I have been told to not look at the display but old habits are hard to break. I have a good ear but it was hard for me to tell the difference on a trash target or a good target. Some guys have said they go by sound alone, that didn't work for me on this hunt. So if you are in an area with modern trash and old relics and coins you are going to be digging a lot of stuff. I can say that on some targets I dug, were over a foot deep and I was still getting a hit on the detector. My pin pointer would tell me the same thing IRON....DEEP.
I would have to say that if I were at a hunt with iron and relics then I could tell you how this machine can punch through the iron from what I have read. That kind of hunt will be coming in Oct. I'm so new with this machine that if I got a beep soft or loud I dug it and could not tell the difference from a good target or trash target. On big iron like rail road spikes I could hear the iron and then maybe every few sweeps a broken beep. We dug those targets and found a horse shoe that way and an old rusted axe. These finds were very rusty but they could have been a rusted gun or tool or lock so I guess you have to dig those also if you want to find a relic like that.
The thing I didn't get to do was compare targets with my buddies machine and see if he even could hear what I did. Park / school hunting was a gas. This machine is better then any of my other machine. It is again stable and deep and fast. I created a new program on the fly and it was really easy and it worked. Recovery was set at 2, power set at three, freq at 8, iron vol low tone (set at vol 2-3). I really like the way this machine is designed. If you understand what you are doing you can't really screw it up.
I have a school that I want to hunt it is from the Gold Rush Days and I have hit it hard, so hard that I don't find anything anymore. I will see if the Deus can find me something because I have heard that it make the ground come alive...
I think the main strength of the Deus is how it works in bad ground and iron. Hunts that have a lot of iron in the ground, and all you want to do is squeak out a few masked relics, then this is what makes this machine so interesting. Being wireless is a great way to work with a machine and new updates really add to the value of not having to wait for a new machine but a new software update. I think the things they can do with this detector are endless and the French I feel are at the top of the ladder in regards to USA companies
I have not shot a video in almost three years so I have to get back into pointing the camera in the right area and I promise my next video will be better and I may do a comparison with the Deus and the At Gold...
