First shore outing with the S-12 (Thanks Joe!)

On Saturday, I took my Sovereign GT for a couple of hours at my favorite South Jersey beach. I was using my new S-12 coil for the first time at the shore. Last weekend I used it in a farm field and came home with 2 colonial buttons, 3 cuff links, and an 1829 Large Cent. I really like this new coil! I seem to find much more detecting using the Sovereign GT, with the stock coil or S-12, than I do with my Explorer or Excalibur. On Saturday, I came home with 19 quarters, 22 dimes, 11 nickels, 68 pennies, one junk ring, and this bittersweet find of a gold ring. I say bittersweet because went I first dug the ring, I noticed a small panda on it. I was thinking I had found my first gold coin, even if it was modern. Then upon closer look, on the reverse side, it says "copy". At least the band is marked 10k. Might try again on Monday. HH

And it will make it an awesome water machine!........the S-12 coil is terrific.

Nice ring mate, keep them coming. Live your dreams! HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

I wonder about buoyancy is all. I'm planning on the purchase of an 800 for that very reason.

Anyone have a field report below the waterline?

Don't go there for scuba John. You will have all that you need with the 800. That lake is going to be way more trashy than a salt water area. You need the small coil for target separation. You are going to really like the 800 in the lakes. We are looking forward to seeing yer bounty mate!

I just posted a story about Mineral Springs Recon. That place has so many targets that they simply melt together--even with the Ace. But I'll have fun pickin' it apart this summer dochaknow.

Hope you, the Huntress and the excals (and the newCZ???) are all healthy these days.
