Hello All,

No camera so no pic. Went back to some of my old haunts while the grass is short and ground wet. A couple of days ago pulled a 1895-S Barber Quarter, 1930 SLQ, couple of mercs, couple of IHs and thirty wheats from one of them.

Went back today and got a 1891 seated dime pretty quickly. I thought that might mean it would be a likely day to do a grand slam. This was one of the sites that I managed to get multiple seated barber merc but never the Roosie to finish the slam.

Well today never got the barber either, so missing the Roosie didn't hurt too bad. Did get 4 mercs, 5 IHs, and another thirty wheats; two of which were 1909. This year has been a big 1909 wheat year, think I have a half dozen already. Don't think I ever found any until last year; this is after many years of detecting and thousands of wheats. Found a worn 1909 VDB last year that took a couple shots of Rumpleminze and dim lighting to discern the VDB, got one this year in much better shape where the VDB is very clear.

Grass is getting taller but might hit it one more time. Otherwise it can wait until fall or next spring.

WTG Chris!!! A friend of mine just got a 1887 Seated Dime this Friday. Sounds like you found yourself a nice spot to dig up some real oldies. I take it that no-one had detected the area before or if they did, they were using the old machines. Keep up the excellent finds buddy and hopefully we can hook up this year and detect somewhere together. Good Luck with your hunting spot and hope you find tons more.
