After 3 weeks of owning a metal detector, the ACE 200, the one that replaced the 150, the low range on the detector scale, this morning I found my first ring.
Right in my back yard, on the beach down by the river, I found what I believe to be a ladies gold ring. Don't know for sure if its gold, but I plan to have it
checked out this afternoon. It has writing on the inside, but too small for me to read even with reading glasses.
It also has what appears to be a diamond in the middle. There again, I need to have it checked out to verify. All the same, I am pumped. Found it around 6 inches in a grassy area of the beach. Registered a consistent 26 on the meter, in the jewelry mode.
Found two Lincoln head pennies too and a bullet. We have lived here for 18 years, and no one has ever mentioned losing a ring. So it had to be a visitor or someone who was here
before we bought the place.
Quite pleased. Don't know what I would do without my Makro pin pointer. Love it.
On another note, I have used my ACE 200 for approx 6 hours total since buying, and that would include when it's laying on the ground while still turned on. I have never left the
machine on by accident. After 6 hours, as symbol on the detector has indicated to me I need to change batteries. Whew, that seems pretty fast.
