first ring

Well I finally found our old point and shoot camera so I could retake the pictures of the ring I found yesterday.

Very nice ring!!! How deep was it. Which detector did you use.

You mention nothing about inside markings so take to a jeweler to see if its real. In any case a real heart stopper and indeed if its real worth some bucks.

Remember my first one was a large Circonia but since then have found 10 valuable diamond rings the last having 16 diamonds in a turn of the century 14kt party ring..

Unfortunately some companies are actually putting fake diamonds in gold rings and some overseas rings have no marking so off to the jeweler if the ring looks real...

From where I am sitting, it looks real to me. :thumbup:Congrats

No markings on the ring and it shows some pitting from being in the wood mulch i think plus there is a small bit of discoloration around the setting so I guess it might be plated but I don't think its a gold ring. I found the ring using my DeLeon the ring showed up in the tab range with a tid of 65 and was only about 2 inches deep. Thanks for the looks and comments. Jimmie

You will always remember your first ring expensive or not as the junker honker I found many years ago made my heart skip a beat...About a month later found a monster collge ring(10 kt) which eventually found its way back to the owner thru my efforts. Nice part is using a Tesoro they just love gold rings and one is in your future...:clapping:

Congrats! As Dan says you always remember that first one.
I am sure more will come.
Cheers,

I detected for quite a while before I ever snagged any kind of ring, until the first. Now it seems that the ice is broken and I find rings fairly often. My DeLeon picked up a ring similar to your picture other than it had 3 stones that are CZs mounted in a plated base. When it first appeared I was pretty excited, but after cleaning and having it checked, it was a modest find, rather than a fortune. Oh well, still fun.

Yeah I got real excited when I first pulled it out of the wood chips then after checking it out I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't real but hey ya got to start somewhere. :)
