First Ring

Have had my MXT less than two months, but have had a year's experience, due to the many messages on this Forum. It's great. Thanks to all!!! Had little luck on SW Florida Beach - mostly modern coins, but lots of good exercise and experience. Last week a friend called and said her neighbor lost his large gold wedding band while raking and burning leaves. After searching the leaf raking area, no ring - I searched the 30 year old burn/trash pile. What a mess. All kinds of metal - pop cans, pull-tabs, bed springs, nails, screws, etc. I checked out the wife's matching ring - set my MXT and began to hunt. I even put the Trac Toggle in Lock. That helped in the comulation of 30 years trash. Within 30 minutes - EUREKA!! Found it. What a thrill for me and the owner. The ring was hardly recoginizable, but it cleaned up good as new. Now I have something to show in our club's next 'find of the month' - Thanks to my MXT. Everybody keep sending messages. I'll keep on reading them and learning. Great Site.
