First ring with the Sting!

Yehaaawww!!!!!! I had my doubts about this machine after my brackish water hunt last sun. Now I have NO doubt! this things a :tesoro: vaccum. Went to a local swimming hole after a 10 hour day at work. Got all my junk out of the car, GB'ed the SR2 and away I went.
Recovered 94 pennys, 2 dimes, one nickle, assorted crap and one very nice gold ring 10k 3.1g w/ diamonds!! Yeah!!! I was hitting targets left and right. Just about wore myself out. That's prob the best time I've had detecting in a very long time. It was like hunting somewhere no one had ever hunted before. I think I'm addicted to waterhunting.
I've also learned to hunt downstream now cause the current was flipping the coil up and was making recovery interesting going upstream. It seemed like i got into a low spot or maybe it was one of the cuts the surf guys always talk about??. I really started hitting targets in a turn in the river/stream where the center was fast and the edges were slow. Heck i got 5 zincs in one scoop! Already looking forward to hunting again!

Go jump in a stream!

That's what it's about.
Congratulations.

Is that some kind of foam around the plastic tub? If so what kind and how many. Looks perfect of water hunting.

All the best

Thanks, That foam piece is called a "fun noodle" or something like that, they sell em at the dollar store, works good. I used 2 ($1.50 each).

Congrats on the ring, and all the other finds! I like your floating strainer basket! Hey if it works, Beale.

Hey Beale, It does work for about $7 and 10-15 mins can't complain. I may build something more professional later. hh

That's what I'm hoping for. I'm such a nice guy I told one of my friends to come along Sun and hunt. Gotta get tuned up before I invade the North for all the goodies!

go jump in a lake!

It's pretty handy. cheap and reliable! I drilled more holes along the edge to get rid of the sand last night
