First relic hunt with V3i

I went out for a few hours Wednesday for my first relic hunt with my V3i. Rather than use one of the factory programs, I decided to start from scratch and create a relic program to test my understanding of the V3i. The program worked great. I managed to find 4 bullets, and I dug very little trash. This site, like most has been pounded to death, but it still produces from time-to-time. The V3i is much easier to understand than what I had been led to believe by others, and it is a lot of fun to use. The only downside I see thus far is the weight and balance. My E-Trac seems light in comparison; I think the heavy stock coil has a lot to do with it. Until the next time.

You did real good on those three ringers.

Are you letting the display pod rest on the top of your hand and loosen your grip? That really seems to lessen fatigue.

Nice Finds!

For the weight and balance problem, try a "Swingy Thingy". It takes all of the stress off of the arm and back. Kellyco probably sells them. If not they are advertised in most treasure hunting magazines.

Happy Hunting!

I invented my own "swing thing" years ago to use with my Explorer XS. It worked great, but it shouldn't be necessary. My White's 6000 XL PRO is balanced perfectly. I can swing my Garret GTI 2500 all day. The point I was trying to make was that White's should have spent a little more time on the mechanical end of the V3. They nailed the electronics. I'm sure I will manage to deal with the balance issue in time. I still love this machine.
